Yup, I smoothed mine out. It was a bit sharp around the edges but it's easier to manipulate for me than the stock mag release.

Looking around to find parts for a G23-style upper (yes, I like .40, so sue me) or a complete upper, any recommendations? Stainless slide preferably, it'll look purty. I see a couple of Ebay vendors for bare slides (Heavy Armor, esp) but might as well ask around here!

You might find a complete used upper for decent money on ebay. they don't usually bring as much money as the 9s. A quick look saw several auctions with current bid around 250.

Here’s my Glock 19 (currently has a Holosun 507c now), Glock 17, and my Glock 34 that’s still awaiting a slide. Both 17 and 19 frames are serialized.

V1 Poly 80 with the slide assembly from my stock G17. If you see the Sn on that slide, you will imagine how Lou From Shooters (RIP) Discount called it out during the paperwork.
I have had this on my shelf for I think 3 years now. Pulled it out this week and did the build. The filing on the rear slide groove took the longest. One video said to run it along the bottom edge of the slot which left about .020 to file down. It also had the milling bit digging into the frame some. I only had thin diamond files which took longer than a standard jewlers file but I kept measuring with calipers along to way to keep the thickness consistent on both sides. Spent about an hour doing that in total before I was happy with the slide movement w/ the spring out. Ran 150 rounds of cheap wolf into the berm then 50 rounds of reloads into a steel plate at 25 yards and not a hiccup. I ran it with zero oil too so should get even better. I do have some resistance when easing the slide home that I don’t have on my G17. Just watched a video at work talking about filing some metal down on the trigger assembly. Gonna look into it. Mag release also is a bit tight and I have to give the mag a good tap or it will fall out. May need to file something but for now, I'll live with it or maybe do a bunch of insertions/releases to brake it in. I don't really like the flare they had on the mag well on the V1 but it is what it is.

I'm so glad they went to the version 2 design, I can't decide if that grip is from a water gun or an 80s action movie prop.

I wish Magpul made different colors of magazines or floor plates, I have a comped pistol that needs +P or NATO and want to segregate them.

here's my "100%." vortex viper, zeroed in armory windowed slide, zev barrel, brownell's/apex trigger kit. now i need to sight it in and shoot it. tell you what, that apex trigger is a big improvement on the stock glock trigger.

Interesting. I could not get the Apex trigger to work this weekend. The center tab was hitting the back of the channel. I'm swapping it out for a stock trigger.

Looked into the above bolded statement. This was happening only when I was testing the trigger return holding trigger while pulling and returning slide. Looks like other people had similar issues. I have a genuine G17 so I was able to compare. The part on the trigger bar that slides and depresses the striker safety button on the slide was WAY too high. I had to file that down and shape it. before shaping, could actually see the slide moving when starting to pull the trigger as the bump was sliding across the striker safety button. That barely moves if at all on my G17. Fixed that and plan to run it this week.

My first ever attempt at this. Sure feels like it’s going to shoot. Had to take a hair off the slide block rails (just a tiny bit too wide) before the G17 slide would behave. It’s a Plain Jane, but she’s beautiful in her lack of a pedigree. I suspect she’s going to have several siblings.

There are states considering banning possession of Polymer 80s. Is Maryland looking at going that way? Before anyone says "how they gonna find a ghost gun?" I would counter that if I were looking for them this is the first place I'd come.....just sayin'

Well gosh, I don’t even know if I still have it! Might have chopped that thing up to make a handle for my the hibachi spatula I use when grilling out on a friend’s boat. We even grill when we’re in 10 foot swells! Sometimes stuff goes overboard, you know how it goes.

    Wake up!

Contact your Delegates. The House hearing is next week.

If the General Assembly has its way, you cannot loan a long gun, you cannot store guns at home if a 17-year-old "could" get to them, you cannot have an unserialized gun (80%). You will not be able to share the 3D code for a printed gun. Your local gun store will face increased costs.

    Wake up!

To "wake up" is not my point, it's where and how easy it would be to find those 80% lowers if Md decides to ban possession.
So how much has contacting our delegates and all the massive rallies helped against the Maryland Dems so far? Perhaps we should wake up to threads like this pointing right to us if things go south.
