Those are dropdead gorgeous. Really deserving of their own thread with all the background context you provided. Lol, good luck trying to get a holster that's as nice as either pistol.

Seller originally ordered this with a stainless slide release and thumb safety for a 'tuxedo' look. I have seen this done to other 1911's that also included the hammer and grip safety but, I like how this is tastefully understated.

That’s real nice!! I need it!

After much thought, I decided to replace the repro grips on my 1925 Colt government 1911 with imitation stag. As I indicated earlier in this thread, it was refinished before I bought it.

Ummm, this is what happens when you leave your CZ's in the safe with your Dan Wesson 1911's: the DWX pistol. Dan Wesson said they're looking at the first quarter of 2020 for availability.

Posted these in C&R but couldn't resist picking them up to go with my two "modern" 1911s.

1943 Ithaca and a 1918 Colt arsenal rebuild. Got a great deal from a forum member and after some paperwork and a wait scratched my vintage 1911 itch.

    Those are fine specimens.

Well I finally did it. I was in United last week and saw this Kimber Ultra Carry II in the consignment case. After seeing how it fit my hand I had to have it. I would have loved to have been able to buy the full size Kimber in the case with it too but my wallet wouldn’t allow it.

It needs to be cleaned really well, first snap cap wouldn’t eject, but the finish looks great. I have a Kimber Grip Safety with Tactical Bump sitting at home ready to be installed and a set of Hogue Extreme Series G10 S&A Mag Well Piranha grips arriving later this week. The case had literally everything that Kimber ships with it including the sample of gun oil.

    My modest offering.
    Remington R1.
I haven't had a 1911 for more than 25 years and thought I'd get one and have it to leave my son who is a WW1 and WW2 buff.
Only put about 20 rounds of ball through it. No issues. I might replace the recoil spring. This one seems really short.
