In an ideal world the money would move to sportsmen’s warehouse and basspro/cabelas but who knows. I think a lot of the larger funds will hang on just to have losses they can deduct

I will not spend another dime at Dick's ... evar. Some say this step can't guarantee that event's like Parkland will never happen again. They may be correct - but if one criminal is dissuaded or one life saved through the availability of firearms and other means of self-protection, it will have been worth it.

I deeply believe that our country's most precious gift is our children. They are our future. I intend to make sure they can keep themselves safe.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you cannot say you support the Second Amendment, then follow that with the word “but“. Never!

    That's all well and good.

Rhetorical question; You are in a position where you need to 'exercise' your 2A rights and you are missing that one little thing, that one little thing that is standing in your way of exercising this right. Time is short. Very short. Dick's is your only savior. What will you do?

Do you bite the bullet and slink on into Dick's and get that one thing? Or do you allow Dick's to stand in your way(by your own hand) and fail? Would it not make sense to use Dick's to continue the mission(exactly what they are opposed of your doing)? It's like finding yourself on the battle field, out of ammo, with plenty of enemy guns lying about, fight still raging. What would you do now?

Life is never black and white. We live in an imperfect world. I never say never.

I'm sure that we spent $1000 or more there in 2017 (shotgun, camping gear, coolers, clothing, ammo, etc). Probably spent $100-200 in 2018, but as of a few weeks ago when they started policy changes, nothing. Easier to order many of the items that we want via the internet for less. If 2A supporters want a target to withdraw support from, DSG is probably the most vulnerable.

As I said in my first post. I probably will never go in there again. I never say never though. Maybe I'm just weak...

In my case, it's easy to say, and follow thru on. Closest DSG is in a neighboring county, but there's also a brick & mortar gun shop not far away from there as well.

Nope. Not spending a nickel there again. And I'm usually good for a few hundred of golf gear and balls a year.

Went to Dick's yesterday so daughter could try on soccer goalie gloves then went home and ordered them from a different retailer - just wanted to "Thank" Dick's for their assistance in getting the correct merchandise from a different retailer!

Did the same thing. Went to Dicks and ran on one of their treadmills then bought it with my phone online while sitting in the store.

I'm sure their reaction will stick on your craw and bother you. The CEO is probably thinking of his next job and screwing over the company. DSG's customers base has a far greater proportion of 2A supporters than REI. It's not like DSG will grow their base after this announcement; they'll just lose sales. Maybe they fear a boycott by the other side more.

Not just losing gun customers either. I fish from my kayak and used to buy stuff for kayaking and fishing also. So they lose out on three levels by me not making purchases anymore. I'm sure there are many like me out there.

My middle son needs new ice skates, we'll be using Dicks to try on new skates and then buying them on line
