Can the Ruger Scout Rifle use AI Magazines or are they proprietary Ruger magazines?

I thought that the Ruger took AICS-pattern mags, but that you weren't supposed to use the Ruger Scout mags in a real AICS rifle/chassis. This is one of the reasons people were going insane when Magpul announced their AICS mags - cheap and compatible with everything.

    Yep AR Mags work great

I have the scout and use my AR mags. Works just fine. When you first get the rifle they are alittle rough but that is just breaking it in. I dont know after a few weeks everything worked fine.

I was really looking at buying a Scout Rifle anybody have any complaints. What are the AICS mags?
"Accuracy International Chassis System". They are generally thought to be some of the most reliable bolt-action magazines in the world. They usually run $60-$70. Ruger makes cheaper ones, but they are only guaranteed to work in the Ruger Scout. Magpul is coming out with ones that are supposedly compatible with everything.

You must be talking about a different rifle, because the Ruger Scout rifle doesn't use AR mags.

The .308 scout uses AI mags, essentially proprietary and no cheaper than Rugers.

Buy the Ruger polymer mags for the GS Scout. They are a lot cheaper and also the cartridges double stack making it shorter. I think they are about $25 for a 20rd mag.

    Reasonably priced, durable, and lighter.
