New To Me Colt 6721

Just traded two SKS rifles for this Colt 6721. It was upgraded with a free float rail, a low profile gas block and a different flash hider. He also gave me all the origional parts but with the exception of the flashider I kind of like it as is. Thoughts?

That doesn't look like the right upper for the 6721.

Why do you say that? The upper receiver has the right forge markings. Obviously someone has installed the free float rail but that's no biggie.

Also, it may just be the free-float handguard, but, the barrel LOOKS longer than 16".

The previous owner installed a low. profile gas block in order to attach to free float rail. He gave me the original A2-FSB which I will be installing shortly with the original real

It the 16", 1/9 twist 5.56 HBAR. The flash hider is twice as long as the origional A2 flash hider.

Nice rifle. I would throw the factory parts back on it and shoot it. But that’s personal preference. I like them standard.

Ah, I got mislead by that. It's still a nice rifle, and the pony on the receiver is distinctive.

This. For me the raised front sight is what makes the AR distinctive.
