I was unaware that the green tip ammo is partially armor piercing

When I purchased 2k rounds of the green tips, I saw no mention that they had a steel core.
I could have ruined my AR500 steel targets with them. Luckily for me, a friend commented that they could pierce armor. I got the warning just in time.
Being fairly new to shooting, I simply did not know. Picking up bits of knowledge every day.

I've shot 3/8 in thick ar500 steel targets with xm855 at 100 yds before. There was no significant damage to the target.
