When Cali thinks we're catching up, they just leap ahead again.

Next there will be calls for lead wheel weight registration and waiting periods because of all the criminal reloaders out there. Maybe even calls for one wheel weight a month...unless you have a collectors license.

I feel the same way. Glad I no longer live in CA but MD is also getting to be like them in some ways.

Lead wheel weights ban signed by Hogan May '17. State owned vehicles comply by this past January. Every one else, January 2020.

You can get bullet casting lead alloys here even ones with 3% antimony (of course you only need one bar of those ).

I assume the SN would be printed on the casing. I also assume the buyer would be tied to that number. What keeps someone from collecting your spent casings at a public range and spreading them all over their crime scene? That would be a major headache for a law abiding citizen with no ties to the actual crime.

And that is exactly the idea. Make firearms ownership so onerous and fraught with legal hazard that law abiding people give up. Eventually the pro-2A community is so small it can't put up a legal or political fight against a total ban on private ownership. It's not hard to imagine 30 years from now the 2A community is small enough for a constitutional amendment to pass repealing 2A entirely, or SCOTUS reinterpreting it away based on overwhelming popular opinion.

Or spreading many peoples casings and creating many "reasonable doubts" in the jury's mind. We found shell casings from six different people and can not say for sure which one fired the fatal round.
