Hammer smacking me

I got a Star PD 45
nice gun. bought it broken and got the parts to fix it.
once it is fired a few times rhe hammer come back to farand hits my hand.
can this be machined down with out. it is only hitting a little. but after firing ten times it breaks my skin

i've looked at the pics of star pd... the hammer shouldnt pass the beaver tail.

your probably have your hand way up..

Bobbing it with a Dremmell should be easy enough.

When the slide comes back it may get pushed a little farther down. Some guns (like the browning hi-power iirc) are known for hammer bite. Some bob the hammer. Some adjust their grip. See if you can get a spare hammer and cut it if thats the route you want to take.

You can bob the hammer.

This was not uncommon with any of the 1911 style guns with a full tang hammer.

You can cut off about 1/4" off the Hammer Spur and recontour. Bite should go away.

I was thinking the same about it not coming past that stop
I will try to cut it down a little.
