Congrats!!! Now time to study up for your Level 2 exam!

Great video of your cert flight, but I missed hearing Neil's thick Baaaaahston accent from the LCO station..."we've never left one up there yet!"

He's got the be the best rocket spotter I've ever seen. Everyone else is staring around at the clouds and he can always pick it out! I think the baby due at the end of march will limit my budget to lower end level 1 for awhile ;)

Do the holes on the fins serve a purpose??? Are these in anyway steerable or do you build, launch, watch and hopefully retrieve?

Those are just a cosmetic, they came that way as part of the kit.

What kind of chute release you using?

That was the Jolly Logic, set it to 500'. Launch the MDRM on a G125 after that set to 300' since it's lighter. (same MDRM I had at Mt. Airy)

I really want to go, especially since I have my mdra dues paid for the year...but with a newborn (with a cold), I think I have to pass :( Once he's a little bigger, I have little baby earmuffs for him so we can bring him to launches.

cross posting with the Pi thread... Finally finished rebuilding my super batray that pranged due to a weak ejection/nose fit swelling in the sunlight (now renamed to super tuxray). Rebuilt it with a 5:1 nose that was given to me, and added a e-bay with a raspberry pi in it. It currently is just setup for video/audio recording, but I'll add sensors to it later to function as a backup altimeter to a yet to be chosen commercial DD altimeter (leaning toward the TRS).
