New Skeet Range Mt Airy

New Skeet range at the Mount Airy Izaak Walton opens tonight 08/10/2017.
Thursdays are the public nights for Trap and now Skeet in Mt Airy.
Cost is the same for both. $5 for non members, Or, $4 if you buy a ticket of 10 for 40 Bucks. Bring your own gun and Ammo.
Shooting starts ~ 5:30pm Get there when you can!

What time do things shut down?
Are the fields lighted? By the time I'll be able to get up there it will be fall-ish.

We do have lighting. When it gets slow, they close down. Depends on how many people are there and participating. So, hard to say.
I left at 830, folks were still coming and shooting.

I have been out of town for a couple weeks. hope to make it over there next thurs but have to see how my schedule goes, it may be a couple more weeks before I can get there.

Trap closes when we run out of shooters. I'd imagine the guys running Skeet will do the same.
Come in a group or alone. You'll be put in a squad, no one has a problem with it. And don't be shy if you haven't done it before, you'll be accommodated and shown the ropes.
This is the friendliest club you'll ever visit or join.

I was proud to shoot on the first night for the new fields. It is a really nice facility, and we all had a lot of fun.

I quit before sundown, but I am sure the lights will be just fine. I wonder if shooting under the lights will make it easier to pick up the birds against the background of trees?

Between the new skeet fields and some upcoming improvements to the rifle and pistol ranges, things are really hopping at Mt. Airy. I am going to need a bigger ammo budget!
