In general, if you think you want one get it. And it will become s hot item among Ruger Collectors as soon as that cal is discontinued.

That said, I've never been impressed with .450 Bushmaster due to the .452 bullet diameter and slow twist rate . I've favored the .458SOCOM with .458dia, and twist rate suitable for heavy bullets.

I would rather have this Ruger. Not sure the chamberings but it sure is a looker and a shooter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asE69z5g_NM

That front sight looks a little fragile to me.

That Didn't Take Long...

So I start a thread on Sunday and before a week is gone this little gem follows me home from a fellow Hooligan's house.

My Hooligan friends are enablers - all of 'em. And we wouldn't have it any other way.

Thanks C.Alls! Now I gotta work out a deal with another Hooligan on some dies and brass. It's always something.

It has large ears on each side. Overbuilt like most Ruger things, not fragile at all.

Would like to see one in S&W 500, just to get to a 50 cal.

And you are a true Hooligan.
We're gonna fund getting that daughter of yours through another year of school yet!

Interesting you say that. It's what C.Alls was looking to do. His take was the round is so loud his efforts weren't getting it done.

I plan on bruising my - and some Hooligan friend's - shoulders first. We'll see where it goes from there.

One More Thought

In the past I've complemented my AR platform rifles with a bolt rifle chambered in the same caliber:
  • For my 223/556 AR's I have a very nice Savage 110.
  • For my 300 BLK AR I have a very nice Ruger American Ranch chambered in the same caliber.
  • Now I have a bolt rifle chambered in 450 BM and do not have an AR in the same caliber. But I do have some pre-2013 un-built AR lowers on hand...

OMG - where could this void logically lead?

This setup should work

I slapped an inexpensive 4-16X40 scope on the Ruger. Most of my shooting is only out to 100 yards so this should work to start. I don't really need optics that cost more than I paid for the rifle.

Looking forward to getting this bad boy to the range.
