Ammo? The stuff you mentioned is alright, if accuracy isn't at a premium. I like Rem 168g match, when I want to have a good day.

German DAG ammo is fine . 1-1.2" groups at 100 yards

Other surplus ammo that I like are the Malaysian and British radway green.
Malaysian surplus is shooting sub moa from my M1A

I bought a my M1A from Dale Bowman's shop. He had a bunch of .308, and I picked up two ammo boxes. I don't know the brand with out going home and looking, but I never had any issues.

Federal makes an American eagle 168gr match tip .308 marketed for use in the M1A has a little picture on the front of a M1A ( actually the picture is a socom, but it works great. )

I buy Win Q3130, it's pricey at $10-$15 per box of 20, but is very good new production ammo, and for me available locally, $12 a box/per 200rds. Accurate, clean, and the cases are great for reloading. If I didn't reload, I would probably shoot more berdan primed surplus, but I can get about 5 loads through the fired cases(M1As are rough on brass), with the bulk bullets(147 Winchesters) and powder(H4895), it ends up being about 1/2 the cost of Surplus once all is said and done, and I use the same components for 30-06 for use in my M1 Garand. I also load with 175gr SMK for match rounds, and have had good luck.

    DAG ammo

The DAG ammo flies right....Good stuff fairly cheap. Too bad it doesn't make you a better marksman.:lol2: I've also had good luck with that somewhat tarnished portugese ammo floating around.

Got the Springfield and the DAG ammo out to Elk Neck today.

I was happy with the performance of the rifle and the ammo.

    Thanks to those who responded.
