The 1951 "Brigadier"...a favorite gun of Mack Bolan...The Executioner. I wonder how many here remember that series of books?

The Executioner, Able Team and Phoenix Force was just about all I ever read in Middle School.

My science teacher used to take my gun magazines from me in homeroom and give them back to me when I had class later in the day and after he had read them.

Try doing that in school nowadays. :sad20:

Nah , the Penetrator was better than those guys .
( ie better written , better plotting, better background research , and while still pulp adventure fiction , several steps closer to plausibly .)

Do these have the same locking block issue at the 92s?

Not familiar with that issue, but they have a pared down, thinner version of the P38 slide and locking system. I don't own a 92/P9, but I think the 92 is actually beefier than the 1951.

That's why I said that I believe the 1951 should stick mainly to standard pressure, 115 grain loads.

They are really nice, fun plinkers for the range.

By the way, it looks to me like P38 magazines could be made to work with a little careful dremel work.

Somehow I wound up with about 30 of that series in a box in the attic. I remember reading a few but it was a younger brother who really liked them.

The whole series was at the top of my list of middle school reading. I always loved the gun facts on the back cover page and receiving really crappy cutlery
