google is your friend, I am not.
    FVCK Kommiefornia.

Just get the regular Rugar HBAR.

I dont know what kind of magic spell and magic magazine buttons they used to make this Kommiefornia safe, but you could not pay me to take it.

FFL will not do the transfer to you unless its MD compliant HBAR. IF it does not say HBAR, you will have FFL problems IMO.

I wonder if you can knock out that plastic triangle easily and have a functional grip?

I looked it up, and I can't find product 8510 (this rifle) on Ruger's website, but I do see the 8500, the standard rifle which has a "medium" profile barrel. I see the standard Ruger rifle being sold in MD at a few FFL/dealers, so I thought this one may be legal.

According to Ruger, the state compliant 8511 has a heavy barrel. The 8510 is a state compliant rifle, so I would think it is closer to the 8511 than the 8500.

Not a good deal on my opinion. After swapping parts it's no longer a deal.

Perhaps not, but I have a standard pistol grip and 6 position stock. The muzzle is of no concern to me right now as I can ask for a flash hider or brake for my birthday or something.

What is you overall impression of the Ruger ARs? I thought I read you weren't fond of the Smith and Wesson budget ARs. Are the Rugers a decent entry rifle?

Are you sure it's a threaded barrel? It is a CA model. I know that Ruger has made barrels that have a machined groove so it appears to have a barrel nut, but is not actually threaded.

I googled the model number, 8510, and on another site it said it was, along with in this link's question and answer. If you look close in the picture, there is a line at the end of the barrel about half an inch from the muzzle. I think it looks like there is a thread cover at the end.

    I would prefer a S&W.
