I've got a bunch of IMR 4320 lying around and I want to develop a loading for my Garand with it. My reloading manual (Hornady 10th Edition) doesn't have a loading for 4320 but I found recommended loadings from 49-52 grains with a 150 grain projectile. Does anyone have a load they've already developed?

4320 is right on the ragged edge of slow for the Garand. I'd opt for a faster powder. IF you just have to use it, stick to light bullets.
Back when Remington "NM" marked oprods were plentiful and sold for $35 people could afford to push the limits. Not the case today.
Oh, those NM oprods weren't "National Match" oprods. It was just to get Congress to approve the purchase of spares for an obsolete rifle. Kind of like putting a ceramic barrel collar and synthetic charge handle on M2 Browsing and giving them a different nomenclature. Congressmen are too dumb to know they're just 1940s/1950/s rebuilds.

IMNSHO, I would NOT use IMR-4320 in my M1 Garand or M1A.

    Stick with known 'good' powders.

H-4895 (I have loaded LOTS of '06 for my Garand using this powder!)
    IMR-4895

W-748 (Really good results/accuracy with Sierra 168 MatchKing in 4 M1 Garands I've loaded for!)

There are others. Those I listed are at the top of my head.

Okay thanks for the advice everyone! I'll stick to using my IMR 4320 for my other loadings.
