As one part of home defense, perhaps to get you to your shot gun or rifle, which type of pistol would you use. Live in a town house with neighbors and will be moving to another situation like this when we retire.
    1911 type 45acp
    9x18 mak type
    38 special snubbie
    762x25 tok.
I am aware of the over penetration of these rounds.
    What do you all say.

How dare you give a choice other than the Lord's pistol and the Lord's caliber? I mean seriously, 45 ACP says "fvck you" in any language.

I find a mini-gun works best on home invaders. Clean up is a bit involved. If I accidentally kill one of the dumb-ass neighbors - added bonus and I level up!

Okay, that gave me an audible chuckle. Thanks.

    Pikers.

    Face toward enemy.

    Claymore or bust.

I approve of this sentiment, if only for the eventual red-flagging. Total perimeter coverage . . . sends a message, loud and clear.

In the real world, however, I'm partial to a Browning Hi Power. CZ P01 would be another choice.

Edit: I really need to move to a far less totalitarian state; MD is not a happy place for me these days - and the MD GA is working hard to make it even more unpleasant.

What do you shoot well while using a flashlight? Do you have a light on any of your firearms?

Age of the building and types of building material will have an effect on penetration, but hitting your intended target will do a lot to slow or stop your round from penetrating anything behind them.

I recommend you use the firearm you are most proficient with.

A punt Gun might be an acceptable alternative to a claymore. Location. Location. Location.

Know a guy that has one. I believe it would do the job.

A stern warning to an invader followed by a nicely rolled hand grenade would also get the point across. Might need to touch up the drywall afterwords.
