Only you would know the answer to that.
Now can you give this a rest? It stopped being funny a few posts back. ![]()

This wasn't Trump v Clinton which you, I, and a few others realized that Trump had a reasonable shot, but Hogan v the rest of the field in which the state and national Democratic party threw the towel in on Jealous. Jealous wasn't a threat to Hogan during election week. It was a pretty easy prediction that Hogan would walk away big. Jealous did much worse than Brown did in 2014, and this was no surprise. Hogan was/is a very popular incumbent. If one looks at Frosh v Wolf (approx 2.1 million total votes), Wolf got 750k of the total. It's probably safe to assume that these were mostly Republican voters, and the vast majority voted for Hogan. With Hogan v the rest, there was approx 2.1 million total votes as well with Hogan getting 1.2 million. If 750k were Republicans/Conservative leaning independents/libertarians based on the Wolf vote, then there were 450k Democrats/Left leaning independents that supported Hogan. All of MDS and 100k lurkers could have voted for someone other than Hogan (socialist lite) or Jealous (fully caffeinated socialist), and Hogan's win would have still been bigger than in 2014. Fully caffeinated socialist would still have been stopped. Voting for someone other than Hogan or Jealous could simply be a rejection of both. One might be able to mathematically claim that it actually fractionally helped Hogan more than Jealous, but I do get the logical argument you are making, which has greater merit if the race was a tight one. If it weren't for Hogan throwing support to Obamacare, endorsing an expansion of free college tuition, and promising future gun regulations, I don't think voting for Hogan would have given folks much consternation. You expressed the same ambivalence and said your vote was against Jealous and not necessarily for Hogan. I don't have a problem with this. However, I think it was also reasonable to argue that it was a one person race, so folks didn't have to vote for socialist lite. Just like I'm sure that plenty of people here voted for Wolf because he was the best option despite being a long shot, folks voted their conscience when it came to the Governor's race. When the GOP candidate has called for further Kavanaugh investigations, wrote in his dad instead of Trump in 2016, and expressed support for many Democratic party positions, some people here opted not to support him. Hogan is clearly a mixed bag as a candidate, and sadly perhaps the best one can get as a "Republican" in Maryland, so I don't begrudge people for supporting him. It was the throwing of shade at folks that were in the minority opinion when it came to Hogan support here by saying that they would be helping elect the full blown socialist (simply because Hogan lost their vote through his actions) that was regrettable in my opinion. Only commenting/replying because I see this heated up in another thread, and perhaps it's time to move forward.
