I'm building an AR-15 upper in 6.5 Grendel, based on the price of ammunition I don't need anything larger than 5 or 10 round magazines since I won't be shooting it all day anytime soon. With that in mind does anyone have suggestions on brands to look at or brands to avoid?

It looks like E-Lander and C-Products are the two brands I can find on multiple sites, I saw Alexander Arms listed on one, but it looks like E-Lander makes them according to the AA website. Any other brands to look into? It doesn't matter if they are polymer or steel.

I am in the same market, have heard C products is about as good as it gets.

Have some of there stuff in other calibers. Generally not terrible.

I actually ordered a couple this morning to try, for $38 I figure it's worth trying them. If they hold up I'll buy more and if not I'll try the E-Lander ones.

Ouch. I’ve got three 10 round ASC mags and a 25rnd mag. All work fine. Zero hiccups. That said, the lips seem to be scratching my brass slightly. I need to try to debut them a little more maybe (I don’t notice any burs running my finger over them)

I want to say they were $13-15 each.

I just realized that the way I worded it it sounds like I paid $38 per magazine. The total was $38, they were $19 each for 10 round mags from Brownells. I'm just glad I don't need Howa or Ruger mags because they are priced $32-$68 per mag. :shocked3:

Oh, lol. Yeah that isn’t unreasonable for nice mags.

But yeah, some of the proprietary mags are just gobstoppingly expensive.
