Anyone here doing any knife kits , seems like a simple way to apply some wood or leather skills even if you don't do the steel portion .

I've done quite a few over the past few years and got back into it, in a fairly major way, in 2019, including a full set of kitchen knives as a housewarming gift for friends when we visited them in their renovated house in Tuscany back in September. I've gotten most of my knife blanks and supplies from Jantz Supply. https://knifemaking.com/

They stock pretty much everything you could ever want to make knives, from raw steel to highly ornamental materials for the handle scales. From both blanks and Christmas presents, I've got several knives that I'll be working on over the winter to keep me occupied in the workshop.

If you're ever down in the Annapolis area, there's a great place for exotic woods, called appropriately...Exotic Lumber. https://www.exoticlumber.com/ I like being able to actually handle the woods to check out the colors and grain pattern rather than buying something online.

If I can make it to the next Bourbon Tasting, I'll try to remember to bring along a couple of my attempts at doing knives.

I’ve done two of these kits. Gave one to a friend of mine. I liked it so much I made one for myself. Cuts like a dream and holds a great edge.
Sorry for the double photo, not sure why that happened

Better get 'em soon! This seems like exactly the type of KQL loophole the MGA will try to close this session!

Hey bud I’ve done a few.

If i can do it and make them look good you’ll crush it.

I use my skinning knife often. It’s small, sharp as heck, and has a perfect grip. I wrapped 80 presents this year and never touched a pair of scissors ;)

I also used Smokey mountain knife works.
