Super excited about this new arrival, mainly because it was listed on GunBroker for an absolute bargain for what it is. I got lucky and came across it right after it was listed. This is a Showa 15.11 (November 1940) dated Nambu Type 14 that has both matching magazines, original lanyard, holster, and cleaning rod. An extra surprise not mentioned in the listing is an original 8mm ammo box that was still in the ammo pouch of the holster (although empty). Pistol is in fantastic condition, the strawed parts like the safety lever and trigger are gorgeous on these early War examples.
Holster is dated Showa 14 (1939) and has a US “war trophy” stamp on the inside flap which reads “INSPECTED IN THE FIELD PASSED BY JOINT INTELLIGENCE” allowing the soldier to bring it home as a souvenir which is pretty cool. Pretty tough to find these with both matching mags so the C&R gods were definitely generous to me on this one!
