This Browning T-Bolt has potential to become my favorite (posted like 5 times now) but displacing my BL-22 will be tough.

I am very lucky in that my wife collects older 22s (and .410s), and so we get to dig those out and dust them off every now and again, We have both Remington 552 & 572s, a Win Mod 63, 62. I like CZs and Rugers myself.

I have 2 favorites. The first rifle I shot as a boy was a new Nylon 66. A few years ago I was able to find an absolutely NIB rifle that is in perfect condition including the box. The other favorite is a very early 1890 22 short that’s in incredible condition. I owned and traded up 4x until I found this one.

I reached out to sico when I first noticed it and they were willing to look at it and refinish. Good on them. Since rimfire I doubt is heat. It doesn’t bother me enough to send in though. I was more curious to what they thought.

I figured it was something I did while cleaning it. I used a lot of IPA to clean it after scrubbing chunks of lead out of it. The good thing is that you know when to clean it when your point of impact changes drastically. Man that thing gets filthy.

When I was in 5th grade, I wanted a Nylon 66 SO BAD!! My adopted mother was anti-gun and I got nothing until I was 18 and able to act on my own.

Remington 581 with a little Bushnell scope. After tearing up the soda cans hung off the barbed wire fence, we’d shoot the string they were hung on.

Winchester 67 Boys rifle. It must have been the first 22 I ever got to shoot. Back in the Day, it used to be my mom’s when she was a girl growing up in Montana until her squirt brother was old enough to have it. Granddad used to say she could shoot the head off a grouse with a 22 when she was a kid, so I’m guessing he meant with this gun. It is a tack diver.

Gotta admit, the Winchester 250 lever gun I added to the collection is a fun little critter, and is moving up the list!!!
