    Ah the joys of sending detents and springs into deep space, never to be seen again.

    Anyone who has built an AR(it only takes once), from then on, has a healthy stash of detents and springs. They are cheap and plentiful.

    If, sometime in the future, you stumble upon a 'lost' detent, you must start your next build with it. :D

    I hold the rear one in with a razor blade while screwing in the buffer tube

    I don't even put it in until it's almost screwed in all the way. The rear can be damaged easier than lost.

    My wife found a spring in our kitchen light fixture. I was looking everywhere for that damn thing.
