    Since I like off-beat stuff I'm partial to the H&R Reising Model 65 family (65, 155, 165, MC-58).
The M65 is probably the best as far as robust & accuracy, getting hard to find unmolested examples though, many have been drilled for scopes, reblued, etc.
(but for a shooter that doesn't matter and maybe is to your advantage).
MC-58 is pretty rare and really tough to find, really more a collector item than a range toy.

Semi-auto but the "bolt handle" is actually in a recess under the forestock. Kinda cool.
Real easy to work on too.

With the pre-A (and A?) Winchester 52's you have to be real careful to examine the receiver where the safety pivots, as they tend to crack.
Can't remember if they redesigned the safety starting with the A or the B...
It's not fatal as the majority of support for the bolt is on the other side and it's over-built.

So, one popped up in the classifieds and I snagged it up.
Good bore, no refinish or excessive wear for a 70 year old rifle.
    Winchester 67A.

Had some paint on the butt plate and cleaned that up right away.

I have not gone over the list to date it yet. should get to that this weekend. Right now I think its pretty close to 1947-49

I'm sure if this gun could talk, it would tell some stories.

How about the Stevens or Savage over and under .22-.410?
    Stevens model 22-410, 1938 to 1950.
    Savage model 24, 1950 to 2010.
The Savage also came in other configurations:
The upper rifle barrels were chambered not only in .22 LR, but also 22 WMR, .22 Hornet, .222 Rem, .223 Rem, .30-30 Win, .357 Magnum, and .357 Max.[4] And, the lower shotgun barrels were chambered for .410 gauge, 20-gauge, and 12-gauge.[4]

Took to the range with some cheap lead Federal Automatch

Shot a few from the bench then offhand at 25 yards. Once you get going. Loading the single shot and pulling the firing pin knob back is pretty quick

I did measure the trigger pull last night and its a nice crisp 3 1/2 lbs

Fair warning - those Springfields (M1922) are quite expensive nowadays! (around $2k)

They're obscure enough to the general, non-collecting public that they can still slip by. One was listed locally for $1.2k and then it dropped to $950 still with no takers. A friend of mine lowballed $650 and got it. He then spent $300 getting two spare mags though.

    Well
Another pickup, this time at a LGS
    Winchester 121 Youth
    Single shot bolt action
These rifles started being built in 1967. Early models had no serial number. They started at 200000 and mine is a little over 400 from that so I date this as either late 1968 or 1969
Blueing is 95%+ with only some wear at the outer edges of the muzzle. Bore is bright and clean. Stock is in good condition with minor dings and scratches without breaking the surface.

Someone added a Tasco 3-7x20 scope to it.

I have my grandfather's Higgins Model 30 that he bought new in 1952. I picked it up over the summer but haven't really had time to do anything with it.

When you consider that anything built pre 1970 will be C&R after New Year's Day it leaves a wide open field of stuff to consider. I'm still hunting for the right pre-A Winnie 52. Ran across a rare Springfield 1922 built in .22 Hornet but doubt it will sell for what cheapskate me is willing to pay. Should be amusing to watch the carnage over that one.

C&R 22LR Rifles, whats out there?

Took the Win 121 youth to sight in the scope. I tightened the screws a tad so it needed some adjusting. After some adjustments and shooting at 25 yards it was shooting great with CCI SV , Geco and Ely Match. Also shot some cheaper 22

The M1922 M2 is my pride and joy. Love shooting this rifle! Fortunately, I have the whole kit - spare magazines, original headspace gauge, etc..
