    So I just got my first shotgun, a Mossberg 590. The stock already has a sling eyelet, but the front does not. I see that the mag cap is drilled and threaded. I'm assuming it's so that it can take a sling eyelet.

    Q: Are these eyelets pretty standard sized or do I need to find something brand/model specific?

    Look on the bottom of the bayonet lug. There should be a hole to mount a sling swivel stud. If I remember right, the mag cap did too, but I was a little wary of having it out past the end of the barrel (I had the 8+1 model). I believe any standard sling stud should work.

    Yup, found it and I think I installed it, thx! However, after screwing in the stud, the eyelet isn't really lined up properly. Any thoughts?
