    Seriously if Mosins had been readily available in the old west, they would have been VERY common.

    No offense to the Mosin crowd, but given a choice between a lever-action Winchester carbine and a bolt-action Mosin, I can't see the Mosin being that popular especially for the type of usage (horse-back, highly mobile ops, etc).
    But maybe the price point would be as it is today, about a 10x differential :)
