AC is upset with all of you dumb redneck hicks that testified last week for using your time to complain about lack of representation on the Task Farce.

And apparently she thinks there is a tunnel across the bay near Annapolis, or at least a portion of one.

This paragraph is a little disjointed and rambling, I'm sure that it's just the Carboardeaux kicking in.

Jesus Christ, she really is nuts.

Dr Crifasi has validated and reinforced many of the stats and talking points about violence, in general.

Nationally, suicides are 62% of firearm-related deaths. In Maryland, it's closer to 50/50 ... because Baltimore.

Comments re: last weeks public comment session. Generally positive, but gvptf is still looking for solutions. Bishop carroll reiterated his openness to discuss with members of community, including gun owners who feel excluded. Carroll will be meeting with Co Exec Pittman and will Express concerns

Can anyone confirm if this guy's name is Lewis Bracy?

OK, finally had a few moments to skim through the video and confirm that Mr. NRA = KKK was in fact the Lewis Bracey I had the displeasure of working with when I started my career in .gov.

Mr. Bracey's level of racism makes Uncle Jesse and Rev. Al look like the CEO and the President of the KKK.

We were Fed. LEOs and he was more likely to draw a race card than he was his weapon.

A little interesting progress. Some folks are willing to address violence besides 'gun violence '.

And from Del. Benson and Sen. Elfreth, we heard about the community's desire to control ILLEGAL guns and their desire for more community centers and activities. Make no mistake, the public housing residents also want stricter gun regulations. The delegate and the senator are totally Anti-2A.

The residents also want cleaned neighborhoods. Go for it.

Dr Crifasi, JHU Bloomberg Center, was interesting. Of course, the usual Bloomberg proposals, like the HQL, magazine limits, and background checks are quite effective. But she also indicated that abandoned housing replaced by green lots and other less infringing ideas are also effective. (Screenshot later.)

The public was allowed to ask questions!

And she was asked if background checks on ammunition we're helpful. She said they were maybe effective in California and. Illinois.

The Task Force then tried to figure out who would write the final subcommittee reports. Funny, I always thought it would be the subcommittees. Jamie Benoit wondered if the Task Force was going to end in December of would recommend its continuation last November.

This was brought up in the online Gun Violence class that was discussed in another thread. She was one of the instructors/contributors to the course.

Where have any of those things been found to be "quite effective?"

    Data on UBC's/HQL:
    https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/0011128708321321
    https://www.rand.org/research/gun-policy/analysis/background-checks.html

This one has a nice chart:

    Standard Capacity Magazine Bans:

    https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/1525107116674926?journalCode=jrxa

https://personal.utdallas.edu/~tvk071000/Banning Large Capacity Magazines Will Not Reduce Crime.pdf

There is simply no hard data to support their assertions.
