    I put a lip around the back and ends. But not the front edge.

    I use my tumbler in the garage: keeps lead out of living space, and not too noisy / will not alarm neighbors.

    Make your bench as big as you can for the space you have available. My bench is 8'x2' The shelves can be removed if I ever move. I used 4x4's for legs,2x4's for framing, 3/4" plywood for bench top and shelves 3/4" dowel rods for shelve support, and LED strip light underneath the lip of the top shelf for light. I also put 2 4 gang plugs for power. The rotary tumbler is on a slider so it pulls out when in use.
