I am still struggling to find an optimum fixed sight solution.

Best performance with fixed sights will be to have the front sight as sharp as possible. Period.

WRT a red dot, I'd suggest a Trijicon RMR. They are rugged, and click-adjustable for elevation and windage. Get the smaller dot sizes, it'll be more precise.

I am going to follow through with both options: the distance prescription with the bifocal bubble at the top of the lense to use with my fixed sight pistols, and have the slide milled on my spare SP-01 slide to try out the red dot solution and my regular distance prescription.

By spring I should have it figured out well enough to compete IDPA pistol. I will stick with PCC events for now.

Norman Wong, O.D., has been kind enough to provide several articles and posts regarding vision, to the Bullseye Shooting Community, through the avenue known as the Bullseye-L Internet Forum. Because the older archives are no longer available and to provide a consolidated source, some of his topics have been placed here.
