I'm guessing there are several....or many.

As we know, rifles by themselves are but a tool.

The skill and attitude of the craftsman is what makes for true accuracy.

Seeing a craftsman who knows, respects and competently applies his tool is seeing art unfold before you.

Of the rifles I own I would rate them as follows: 03A3, 96 Swedish Mauser, K31, Finn M39, Enfield No. 4 Mk 2

This is based off my rifles and doing surplus rifle postal matches for the last year or so.

General issue? I'd say either Finn Mosin, M16A4, ot the K31.
    Specialized? KAC M110/SR-25, M40A3, or the SAM-R

Okay, let’s pretend I know what I’m talking about here. I’ve been to some vintage rifle matches and I’ve seen all kinds of rifles on the line. It’s always the US rifles (M1 & M1903/A1/A3) that take the honors. The Swiss K31 and the Swedish Mausers do alright too.

Enfields? Mauser 98s? Nope. Why not? These are darn good rifles. But don’t forget the cartridges. Certainly you can reload accurate .303 or 7.9mm but these aren’t forgiving cartridges.

Now, consider how hard it is to find a .30-06 load that doesn’t shoot well.

In my limited experience it's Swedish Mauser, K31, & 1903A3.
I own a K31, 1903 & 1903A3. The K31 is expensive to shoot. I shoot the 1903A3 the best. I love shooting the Garand but The K31 and '03s are more accurate.

SVT-40. An experience to shoot and a PITA to maintain.

But really, Swedish or CZ-produced Persian Mausers are the bees knees. Springfield 1903 and K98 as well.

Ultimately, P14 and M1917 rifles are hard to beat. IMO, it's the best bolt action battle rifle ever made.

If I were to take a guess I'd have to vote for a 1903A3 Springfield.

In my limited experience over a few years and only with my rifles, I agree.
My 1903a3 has an exceptional bore.
Its a combination of the barrel, trigger and sights. Sights, like a good trigger, makes a HUGE difference here unless you have eagle eyes.

Wait, didn't we already have this discussion?

I've shot quite a few C&R/Vintage matches since 2002 with a host of fine shooting M1 Garands and have found that a correct 1943 Winchester M1 Garand with a WRA barrel from WWII has been the most consistent and reliable of them all.

It is capable of less than a MOA with Greek HXP M2 Ball.

I have a Remington 1903A3 that I like, too, but that very narrow front blade sight puts too much strain on my 76 year old eyes, so I shoot it sparingly.

Presuming old school bolt actions, Springfields, Swedish Mausers, and specifically Finn Mosins for a sleeper.

Not that the K98, other M98 variants, SMLE, and others aren't good to excellent battle rifles, and many of them also fine for sporting ( in the good sense) use, but the OP inquiry was specific.

I've got a Smith Corona 03A3 with a pristine 6 groove barrel that outshoots any other milsurp I have. My H&R Garand and International Harvester with its original LMR barrel are also very accurate.
