New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie announced Monday he pardoned a 24-year-old security guard of all criminal charges, after the man's arrest two years ago for carrying a legally-owned firearm made him a convicted felon.

    ...

While unloading his 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun inside his car, his 6-year-old sister wandered into the family's garage, startling Josey-Davis. He quickly tucked the firearm inside the glove compartment and out of the child's view, according to his account.

Hours later, while driving at night with his girlfriend in Highland Park, he was pulled over. Josey-Davis says he was going below the speed limit.

Because he did not yet have a permit to carry the gun -- which was stored, still loaded, in the glove compartment -- he was arrested.

I thought this guy had a restricted CCW for security work.

He has told various conflicting stories, but they all indicate that he had applied for but not yet received his CCW. He also said he was headed for work with his firearm and bullet proof vest, but later said he had the firearm because he planned to go to the range later. Then he left a loaded firearm unattended in his car glove box and re-discovered it late in the evening after a dinner with his girl friend when the police pulled him over. Despite his "evolving" description of events, he should not have been charged with a felony.

Anyone know what happened with the (single?) mom who made the mistake of a wrong turn, crossed a bridge into NJ and was immediately pulled over while she had her legally-possessed gun?

    Was she pardoned?
