Due to the unseasonably warm weather, I decided against shooting alone and indoors today at Continental Arms and grabbed my two sons, 10 and 15, and my father in law, and headed to AGC.
We took turns with my Walther P1 and P38 on the pistol range, and my father in laws Ruger Mark 111. Then moved up to the Barnes Rifle Range checked the scope on a deer rifle, then 100 rounds with my AR-15 trying out my new 30 round PMags I got at the Sports show in Harrrisburg, the PMags were great, for a target shooter the bigger mag the better, IMO. Then we finished with hundreds of rounds though the .22 Marlin Model 60.
Today was my 10 year old sons first day shooting. I let him shoot the Marlin Model 60. He wasn't afraid, he has been out with us as an observer over the last year, and had a great time. Someone shooting next to us had a couple of metallic clangers set up, and offered them to us to shoot at, that was fun, especially for the little one.
As we were finishing up, the Monumental Rifle and Pistol club's monthly meeting must have broken up, as we saw a raucous crowd of at least 25 new members being walked through the Barnes Range.
A great guys day out!
