    BEOoooooooo!

    Thank you sir.

And AOB is right on when talking about flooding the Gazette and other social media with the "red flags" created by having comedians--backed by rock bands-- "honor the memory" of those lost in the Gazette tragedy so close to the funerals.

This event was reportedly put into motion just after the tragedy by the Leftist Annapolis mayor "honoring" the old DemocRat credo: "Never let a crisis go to waste". The "Freedom of the Press" theme has nothing to do with one mentally ill man's attack on what he perceived was revenge on his personal tormentors. (Those tormentors could have been his neighbors reporting allegations of domestic violence).

How can the families of those killed benefit when you stage an event where the following costs get lopped off the top, when there are fixed costs and there is a significant chance of rain--driving down attendance?

    Let's ask about this online:

*Travel, per diem, and appearance fees for the Trump-hating "celebrity comedian" named Joy Behar, who has made headlines savaging all conservatives.

*Travel, per diem, and appearance fees for the gun-hating "comedian" named Jordan Klepper, who hosts TV segments disparaging firearm ownership.

*Expenses and fees for several rock bands (and their roadies, for whom this is a workday).

*Expenses for the delivery and placement of a substantial stage, along with the costs for professional production contractors.

    *Ticketing expenses

    *Annapolis City permit costs.

*Annapolis City worker costs for creating an "event zone" on major public streets.

    *Annapolis City trash clean-up costs.

*Additional Annapolis PD officers allocated for overwatch and crowd protection.

Let's put into words what the Libtards won't: This "fundraiser memorial" event was HIJACKED for a Leftist agenda just days after the tragedy!

Maybe you should reconsider your habit of reflexively complaining about Patriot Picket projects and adopt a wait-and-see attitude that others do.

When we announced that we had ambushed Rep. Maxine Waters with our Pots & Pans Serenade at her DC home after she urged Dramacrats to accost Trump Administration folks whenever they appeared, you grumped that if you were her neighbor you’d be pissed.

And here in this thread; several more grumpy posts without acknowledging that this “memorial”—as you referred to it—was set up with ulterior motives.

Are momentary feelings and perceptions all that you give priority to?

The day following our LEGAL protest (allowable noise until 10pm), Rep. Waters announced that she was suspending all public appearances at that time.

Sometimes you have to crack a few eggs to make an omelet, brother.
    Post hoc ergo propter hoc.

Here is a look back at mindset of Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley, who began his POLITICAL maneuvers just after the tragedy unfolded:

On the day of the crime:

Buckley elbowed his way in front of the media microphones in the hours after the shooting, despite the fact that the crime DID NOT OCCUR within the City of Annapolis. While the bodies were taken to the morgue, Buckley detoured from all the condolences being offered to declare to the media that gun control groups must immediately respond politically.

"Today's tragedy will not be the new normal for our city, county, state or country." (Annapolis Patch, June 28)

    One day after the crime:

"We can't just move on to the next massacre. I thought we were going to get some traction after the March For Our Lives. I thought this might be the thing that moves the needle but there's been no traction on that. We have to look at gun control. We have to look at mental health issues. You know, we have to look at a President that makes it OK to be angry, to be mad." (MSNBC, June 29)

    Three days after the crime:

Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley plans to host a fundraiser and music festival for press freedom following the attack at the Capital Gazette office Thursday.

“We want [the attack] to be something people don’t forget,” Buckley said Monday during a visit to the temporary Capital Gazette newsroom.

Buckley said the city is in the early stages of planning an event on Bladen Street in front of Maryland State House. The event, to be scheduled for the next few weeks, would involve musical acts and honor the legacy of five Capital Gazette staff members who died in the attack. He is known for his community organizing on the West Street corridor, where he co-owns several restaurants. (Capital Gazette, July 2)

    Four days after the crime:

The mayor said he was upset Saturday to see national media already leave town and to move on to other stories. Lowering the American flags would offer a measure of remembrance, even as life moves on for other people, he said. Even if the president doesn’t order American flags to be lowered, Buckley said he might still lower flags in prominent city locations.

The newspaper’s office at 888 Bestgate Road is outside city limits, but the newspaper was located within city limits for most of its history. (Baltimore Sun, July 3)

Again, all the political statements and responses above occurred BEFORE ANY OF THE FUNERALS.

Is that Ghetto Yidish? :innocent0 It's all Greek to me. :D

"Used to indicate that a causal relationship has erroneously been assumed from a merely sequential one."

Sorry, but our Serenade at Miss Maxine's was not just a fun story on MDS.

Here are some more particulars to consider: Maxine not only called the DC cops (see YouTube video), she demanded that the Capitol Police drive across the city and end our demonstration. (info relayed to me via Capitol Hill connected source who gave us Miss Maxine's home address).

Our demonstration was prominently aired on DC's Channel 4 news, which is one of the local TV stations that Members of Congress watch for their 11pm news. Undoubtedly, some Democraps in Congress saw the video of Miss Maxine getting a dose of her own medicine and relayed that news around the Hill. (As someone who used to hold a Capitol Hill Press Pass, I know how political gossip ROCKETS throughout that place)

Once our Maxine Pots & Pans demonstration aired on a major TV outlet in the DC area, we are quite confident that it became a factor either for Miss Maxine herself, or for Democratic Leadership, in discussions of how to handle this turn-about-being-fair-play.

    You are correct, sir.
    Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press;

The First Amendment is about government oppression. Has not a damned thing to do with one wingnut and his personal grudge.

Behold the hypocrisy of Gavin Buckley—an Libtard Aussie who arrived in Annapolis on a sailboat and STAYED— forsaking his country’s system of laws and culture because he thought America WAS A MORE EXCELLENT PLACE TO LIVE.

Years later, after climbing through Lib politics to become the Mayor of Annapolis, he suggests, through his public statements, that Australia’s laws and traditions of nationwide gun control should be adopted here.

If this bothers you, get on the Annapolis Gazette pages and say so.

I've also given you guys praise, but please, gloss right over that, and turn straight to insults. Believe me when I say that nothing...absolutely nothing that you do involves any sort of "reflex" from me.

The day following our LEGAL protest (allowable noise until 10pm), Rep. Waters announced that she was suspending all public appearances at that time.

I'm sure that you playing drums was 100% the reason Waters made her change...yeah, that's it.

Surprise! (with a hat tip to Seagraves1963!)

The Annapolis mayor’s effort to take the Gazette Newspaper tragedy and hijack it to create a gun-hating, Trump-bashing political rally has started a backlash.

And the backlash is coming from the less-fanatical Libs on the Annapolis City Council who are “expressing concern” about the “planning and execution” without coming out and saying that this event was hijacked.

    .
So what you are saying is: that I was right. Even the left is upset that members of their own party are hijacking the event to push an agenda. Didn't I say that if they did that, that they would own it? As in, all the hatred would be directed at them. And you have the opportunity to let them take all of that hatred, but you want to interject yourself in to the mix, and create an outlet for them to redirect the anger placed on them. At the very least, you will be splitting the anger between them and you.

You are all big boys, and can make your own decisions. But don't come crying for support for your next event after your organization takes a hit in popularity. The PP demonstrators have some of the biggest balls I've seen to do some of the things they've done, but they won't make you, or me and other gun owners, immune to repercussions.

I think that conducting such an activity at this event will have to be handled extremely delicately. I have not doubt that the press will do everything in their power to make the group look like an example of Frosh's "Gun Nuts".

Every event that the PP has attended that was sponsored by the other side has devolved from it's stated intent into a figurative and sometimes even literal clown show. EVERY ONE. From the first trip to the NRA which was a literal clown show to the March For Our Lives which turned into a march against the NRA, and every one in between none of them have "stayed on script" and I don't see this one being the exception that proves the rule.

When the invited speakers include the editor of the WaPo, aka the Democrat Party's daily drivel, Capital Gazette reporters who just yesterday were speechifying for more gun control at another rally in Naptown and top if off with Joy Behar, it doesn't take a big leap of faith to assume that this one won't run off the rails of memory for the victims and respect for the 1A into the evils of the NRA and it's members and please finish the job Mr. Next Guvanah Jealous. By default, all lawful and legal gun owners will feel the repercussions of being lumped together with the shotgun wielding lunatic who took five innocent lives regardless if the PP is there or not.

The presence of the PP shows those on our side that there are others out there who share the same thoughts and values they do. The press can attempt to portray us as gun nuts until the cows come home but when we are not out there acting the fool, showing respect where warranted and simply engaging in dialogue or just standing with simple signs that say we believe in the Constitution and Bill of Rights we have seen that it is pretty difficult to put a negative spin on that behavior.

Thank you Stoveman for your observations.

gtodave: thank you for any and all support you offer. I apologize for being harsh in my comments back to you.

That said, The Patriot Picket was not set-up as an all-encompassing organization that polls the membership of MDS before engaging in activism.

We simply invite folks to join us to take messaging about our rights to the public square. Our “direct and forthright” approach was described in the first post that set up this style of activism more than 2 years ago.

Obviously, our group does not monopolize activism in the public square. We would be thrilled to see low-key information tables set up ANYWHERE on any public sidewalk, the way we see voter registration tables outside grocery stores.

But sadly we don’t see this. MDS has THOUSANDS of active members posting and yet our non-partisan MSI org can only get the same 6-10 people to man info tables at the greatest place on earth—gun shows. But, MD 2A tables outside grocery stores? Have you ever seen one?

Back to our calls-to-action. Our threads are invitation threads. We give priority on “judgement calls” to the people who actually stand with us. Do we take direction from you, or do we use our own best judgement? If we wait for “consensus green lights” from whole forum we would probably never leave the barn. Can’t be any more direct than that.

Our go/no go decisions continue to be made within a circle of people who have the most experience with strategy, follow-thru and media. As much as anything, our goal is buck up our side to stay in the fight. The haters will never love us. When we demonstrate that we are not ashamed of our principles—and will not be bullied into the shadows by the hysterics of the Left—we see that as winning.

We hope you will join us on any day that our messaging is totally aligned with your positions.

That being said, we have already defined a somewhat “stealthy” approach for this event. It is not a stretch that people passing our position might actually high-five us and just keep going.

Those with curiosities or questions will hear more about how we think the vision of the Founders continues to serve our country. If they disagree, so be it. If they scream at us, we will ignore it.

Our signs will, on their face, be most agreeable:

WE STAND FOR FREEDOM OF THE PRESS

WE STAND FOR THE FIRST AMENDMENT

WE STAND FOR OUR BILL OF RIGHTS

I agree with this stance 100%. It would be really hard to twist, even by the leftist media.
Let me see what my boss has planned for the day.

Ed Zachary. Just like we did at the "Die In", just stood there respectfully and took it all in, the signs did all the talking.

There was more than one person who came to us after that event and told us that they didn't agree with our position but that we could not have been more non threatening in our presentation.

I was concerned that the leftists could have done thousands of major faux pas' and they all would all be ignored by the media. Yet if one word from The PP was taken out of context...
