    I just went through this issue and wanted to share. I have one of those Sentry quick access pistol safes and the gas strut has weakened to the point where it would no longer lift the cover properly.

    So if any of you have one of these, here are a pair of replacement struts (pretty cheap in cost) and a link explaining how to replace them. Pretty easy peasy for such a maddening shortcoming with them:

    And I'm not sure if it's ok to keep gun in hidden safes, I'd like to know could it be dangerous somehow or no?

    Why would it not be okay to use a hidden safe? Are you talking a legal standpoint or how long it would take you to retrieve your gun should you need it?
