"Just finished reading the 122 pages of Diane Feinstein’s latest 'gun-control' bill, Senate Bill S.150, and was surprised to find some important things missing."
    "... but first, here’s what’s missing."

    "1. Criminals"
"Nothing addresses criminals — everything is aimed at innocent people who haven’t done anything wrong. There is not even any 'malum in se' (legalese for intent to do wrong) or criminal intention. It is all 'malum prohibitum' (wrong because we say so), the worst kind of bureaucratic and government abuse — crime by decree. The critics appear to be right. This is not about gun control, it is purely about control.

Term Limits would be in order. We'll never see that though. :sad20:

I'd like to give Babs a BROWN EYE WAKEUP. :D

    Do what I have done:
    1) Know who your local Representatives are at the state level and know their stance on gun issues. If they are Pro 2A, encourage them and thank them for their continued support. If they are anti 2A and blindly supporting the MOM doctrine, remind them of the definition of "Representative".
    2) Educate the non-shooters that haven't learned to shoot by taking them to shoot.
    3) Show new shooters the safety that we exercise at our ranges and the steps that most of us go through by keeping our weapons safe at home.
    4) While new shooters are at the range, let them witness a legal gun transaction with law-abiding people and reputable gun sellers.
    5) We are loosely banded together here in MD for our beliefs and though many of us are members of the NRA and other organizations also, this is a grass-roots effort by like-minded people.

My main intent is to overcome the image that has been painted of us by the media and politicians We are intelligent, dedicated, and motivated to pursue our cause. We are not trying to change anything, merely preserve our Constitutional Rights. We are all after the same goal, a safe society.

I am trying to make it to the Mar 1 rally in Annapolis. Got 3 kids and a wife, so it is not always possible. Will see what I can do.

Lets keep up the fight, lets make our voices heard.

Don't post much but lets see, I'm a member of the NRA, NRA-ILA, NRA-PVF, & GOA. I have written rebutals in local papers, contacted my senators and delegates, debated anti-gunners and/or non-gunners, enlightened the ignorant on gun laws and features, helped non-owners become owners, and tried to get the complacent to get off their butts.

What am I doing? Well, so far, I have been to Annapolis 4 times (2/6, 3/1, 3/5, and 3/23) and met personally with Senators and Delegates. I have signed up to testify in Senate Judicial Proceeding Commitee, but was turned away because Frosh held it to 8 hours, for nearly 1800 people who wanted to testify against it. I testified to the House Judiciary Committee for the full MINUTE I was given ( :mad54: ), after having submitted written testimony. I have written letters to the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee (this was before the Hearing, when things had not started moving so fast). I have been to my district's Delegate's office three times, able to meet with him personally at least once, left a note the second time, unable to make contact the third. I have been to Chairman Vallario's and Vice-Chairman Dumais office, but had to just leave them notes. I have called the House Judiciary Committee members three times, and called Health and Government Operations Committee members, and intend to call ALL of them again today, since I can't make it up today, tomorrow, or Saturday.

I watched a guy testify at the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee that was so crippled by the cancer he had battled that he didn't even have the strength to push his own wheelchair, let alone walk. It appeared that he had a hard time keeping his breath he was so weak. Yet he was there, testifying after at least 8 hours of waiting. I was HUMBLED by that man, as everyone should be. I haven't seen him again, but they way he looked, he may very well have passed on by now. Nobody, NOBODY, has an excuse for not AT LEAST picking up the telephone and calling the House Judiciary Committee members, and their district delegate. To do any less is shameful.

Agreed 1000%. I have been making the same efforts having invited numerous gun skeptics out for a friendly day at the range at my expense. Only a few have taken me up on it but they were changed from the experience. Cannot overstate the importance of "our" responsibility, as responsible gun owners, to help educate the passive or uninformed.

I'm in 4A, and feel pretty good about Sen. Brinkley, and Delegates Afzali and Shultz. I called Sen. Ron Young's office, but it's a lost cause - I do believe he is very vulnerable in the next election (District 3 is relatively conservative, for Maryland anyway) considering his voting record on Gas taxes and 2A issues, if we can find a good candidate.

I am emailing Senators Middleton, DeGrange and Brochin this evening.

Forgot to mention, called Clagett's office as well - another lost cause I suspect. I believe he may be retiring after his term is up (I'm hoping anyway)

Welcome to the forum. Clagett is running for mayor of Frederick city next, as is Ron Young's wife, Karen Young (who is also an anti). Perhaps they can both compete in the campaign to see which is the worse anti, so a sensible 2A-supporting candidate can deprive them both of office.

    Good morning all.

I moved from NY a few years ago mainly because of the confiscatory nature of the NY government. Just a brief history, there are no strong leaders and I mean mostly republicans that could or would stop the extreme left from foisting their socialist agenda on the people. They have some of the highest taxes in the country and now some of the toughest anti-citizen laws. I refuse to call them gun laws. It was very easy for them to hand down these dictatorial measures because there is no one who can nor will oppose them in government, the lame stream media, or in the field of so called education.

I remember just after moving here that MD was well on its way to becoming NY in many. I saw these things they were dictating in education and healthcare, my occupation. I saw all the signs and now this new anti-citizen law will be passed by his highness in Annapolis with great fanfare at the capitol and will be celebrated by the boot lickers in the local lame stream politburo. And yet, the murder rates climb inexorably in the cities and no one seems to be paying much attention to that. These new anti-citizen laws will have no effect on the murder rates, we know this from other cases from around the country. It's a sham.

So you see, it isn't about gun rights, healthcare, and budgets. It's about the opportunity for another big power grab. It's about control over everything we are and now, thanks to the dumbed down voters, they have it.

I used to say this when I lived in NY. What's the difference between a democrat and a republican? Absolutely nothing. They all want the power and to make us, we non government types, second class citizens. You get what you vote for and with an abysmal education system we're turning out young adults who have no idea what the word civics and economics mean let alone read and write properly. You see the problem goes much deeper than gun banning and their fatalistic incrementalism. It's about keeping the citizenry stupid. The dumber they are the more accepting they will be that the government is always here to help us and that they know what is better for us than we. All one has to do is watch the local channels in Baltimore.

It's sad for me to say this but I must say I believe it is all over and they have won. Just take a look at what happened in Germany during the Weimar Republic just before the takeover of the 'new' national socialist party. History does, in fact, repeat itself and we are now witness to that on a national and state level. Comrades! My $0.02 :mad54:

This is so relavent to today. It is a principle that we must stand together to defend and it goes beyond any one legislative issue.
