Applied 8/31. DHMH and one other item were the only two things done through yesterday, and today it went active.

Maryland HQL

Applied 9/1/2016, approved 9/26/2016. The last two they approved on the checklist was the NCIS and the Secondary Review Complete. Received HQL Card on 9/30

I got my HQL last Monday, took a month... Problem is my date of birth was wrong on the card. So I called, MSP immediately blamed me for the screw up, so I had to pay $20 to have it corrected. I can't review my original application, so who knows who's mistake it was. I feel halfway confident the right DOB will be on the new card, I had them change it, paid my $20 and called them the next day and had them confirm my DOB... who knows probably just being bent over for another $20. BUT, my question is, if it were my mistake, how the hell did they conduct all those background checks with the wrong DOB??? Can anyone explain this?

HQL class, fingerprinting, and application 20 Aug 2016. DHMH check passed 24 Aug. Prints letter arrived (with the wrong name) that same week; faxed them the docs to get it corrected. No progress until it went active online 13 Sep, then received the very classy and well-designed physical card object 16 Sep.

Online process showing:
Application payment received 10/15
DHMH complete 10/15
All other fields are blank

Received Letter from DPSCJ confirming prints and no criminal dispositions or history on 10/20

Waiting patiently...

Thanks to the forum for helping set expectations as I gather that most items on the online system will stay blank until they all suddenly update.

Will update when my application is updated.

I think the worst part for me was buying my hand gun, paying for it and then handing it back to the dealer so I could patiently wait one more week to come back again to take it home.

Most everything approved today just waiting on the following. Already received the CJIS in the mail over a week ago.
CJIS - Criminal Justice Information System Check for criminal history.
NICS - National Instant Check System - Federal Check.
JIS - Judicial Information Systems to check court history.
Secondary Review Complete - Indicates a more thorough background check has been completed, if necessary.
