Op, there are also long and short triggers for the 1911 Colt type pistols. Changing from one to the other also makes a difference in how your shots group.

I agree, I'm lefty also and noticed that using a laser to aim my pistol.

Practiced wrong leads to done wrong in action.

The point of practice is to develop an automatic way of doing something where one does not have to consciously do something different to achieve the desired result each time.
