Ruger Red Label 28 gauge, bottom firing pin occasionally puts dent in primer without firing round. My son had a Red label 12 gauge which had the same problem, returned to Ruger twice to no avail.

    Any thoughts appreciated.

The problem seems to be the pin is ocassionaly not hitting with enough force to ignite the primers.

Same problem, bottom barrel, two Red Label Rugers.

I had that problem with a 12ga Red Label, about 20yrs ago, sent it back to Ruger.
They fixed it, dunno what they did, but my buddy has it now, and it's still working fine after a couple thousand rounds.

Did a Google search, seems the problem has occurred in other Red Labels, and at least in the past, Ruger's service has not always been good.

    Comments are appreciated.
