    A friend sent me a picture of an older S&W revolver 4". In all the pics of the barrel from either side, the last 1/2" looks as if it has been tapered to go in a very little. If you can picture what I mean have you ever heard of this. I think it is a model 10 from around ww2

    Or could be advanced holster wear from an ill fitting holster. We need pictures.

    Historical Note - Until the 1950's all M&Ps had the taper bbl , and it wasn't until circa 1980 that the heavy bbl became more common , with taper bbls still offered until nearly the end .

    I am not technically able to put pics up. the barrel tapers down from a half inch from the end of the barrel to the end. Does not effect the crowning though.
