i'll add another vote for the CZ 455 Tacticool. So accurate it made me giggle like a little kid while zeroing.

Haven't had a chance to ammo test but I shot the Mayberry 22LR precision match with Norma Tac 22 (what I had at the house) and it held its own out to 200 yards. 300 was a different story...

I have the SWFA 12x with mil quad reticle on mine.

Both. Get a Savage Mark II BV (or one of the many other Mark II's) and a Ruger 10/22.

Ruger American rimfire. Takes 10/22 mags, lightweight adjustable trigger. Mine shoots well.

    So many good options.

Basic 10/22 with nice looking laminate stock for $200 ...

    https://gun.deals/product/ruger-1022-compact-22-lr-16-10-rd-black-laminate-stock-249?mobile=true

10/22 Takedown with the excellent MagPul Backpacker stock (less than a 6 lb package that stores very compactly, and has room in the stock for 3 x 10rd mags) ...

    https://gun.deals/product/ruger-102...agpul-backpacker-stock-10-rds-41099?view=list

For bolt actions, the Ruger American Rimfire series in 22LR uses 10/22 mags. I got a Predator version not long ago (in 22 WMR instead of 22LR), and am very pleased with its performance at the range.

As also mentioned, CZ 452 and CZ 455 bolt action rifles are high quality and good looking. The American stock is quite nice if you want to mount a scope and have a rifle that is fun at the range but otherwise designed to take out to the field. I'm thinking about getting a CZ 455 American in 22 WMR these days, but the CZ 452 American in 22LR is back for a short while after a special production run after being phased out a couple of years ago (being replaced by the CZ 455 ... but many enthusiasts prefer the more stable barrel to receiver mount of the CZ 452). Not including transfer/shipping/tax, a CZ 455 American in 22LR will run $350-400 new, and a CZ 452 American in 22LR will run $480-500 (from Grabagun or Buds, who have them in stock).

As mentioned upthread, there's also the new Tikka T1x release (I'm tempted but think the black synthetic stock is kind of dull) as well as the highly regarded Smith & Wesson 15-22 (that one of the MDS IPs currently has for a very competitive $350-370 ... don't remember whom).

Don't forget there are outstanding older 22LR rifles also available if you look for them ... Remington 514 Targetmasters (look for ones with front and rear aperture sights), Remington 121 pump action rifles (so much fun), Savage Anschutz Mark 10 and 10b single shots that are dead nuts accurate, etc.

Gratuitous pics of some of my current favorite rimfire rifles ... 10/22 Takedown with MagPul Backpacker stock, CZ 455 Varmint in 22LR (dime sized groups at 50 yards), CZ 512 (semiautomatic) in 22 WMR (about 1.5 inch groups at 100 yards), and Ruger American Rimfire Predator in 22 WMR (with scope and rings, around $400 - such a bargain - need to test more, but also seems to shoot 1-2 inch groups at 100 yards) ...

My savage bolt action will shoot 1/2 inch groups at 50 yards without trying. Almost made me think I was a good rifle shot.

My Savage FV-SR is a tack driver. The stock, though, is shite. Put a Boyd’s stock on it, now love it.

Buy them all. Rimfire rifles are cheap. :D

You can go from mild to wild. And reasonable to hold your breath prices.

    I have a CZ455 VPT, that came in a Manners T-4 stock.

The Savages have a great reputation.

    And many others.

    Enjoy.

I did the same. Was accurate but that stock, not good. I bedded mine with dip hardware and poured an epoxy bed where that wood is thin. Love that rifle

Was that the Mark II variants?, One of the updates to the B22 was changes to the stock to overcome the shortcomings of the first generation. I watched a youtube review of someone comparing the two which drove me to hunt down the B. I will have to see if I can find that again. Hopefully the weather holds decent this weekend to get mine to the range.

Yes. Mine is 5 years old now I think. I think I posted pics of the bedding.

Yeah, the magazine is even better. I almost bought a newer one but, built a 10/22 with KIDD components

Below is my CZ 512 vs my Savage 93 GL in 22 Magnum at 100 yards with different ammo. It looks like the Savage prefers the 30 grain bullets over the 40 grain but the the CZ does well with both bullet weights.

I also have a CZ 512 in 22 LR and the Ruger 10/22 that I have doesn't even come close to the CZ.

The 10-22 is a very adequate plinker. It's not a target gun, but works pretty well without any bells and whistles. And if it doesn't shoot as well as you want, upgrades are cheap and easy. Stocks, barrels, triggers, sears, you name it.
