Can any of you bright folk identify this rifle? It's been in a friend's family for ages now and I can get additional pictures if necessary.

I'm hearing that it's Belgian, with an "odd extractor" if that helps...

It looks like it might be dangerous, I should take that off your hands for your safety ;) But honestly it's interesting, I'm sure someone here can get more info.

I've pinged the owner for more pics. If you can give me the name of a really worthless Belgian rifle that looks at all similar to this, I'd love to pull an April Fools joke on him. :)

From reading evidently the Flobert came in a bunch of calibers including 9mm... from MrWhiteRabbit's pic the chamber looks bigger than .22.... interesting... (or the pic is deceiving)

    Quackenbush?

It could be a Quackenbush Rifle. Is it 22rimfire? I would love to see it in person.

Maybe I should just have him join the forum instead of posting the information he e-mails me? :)

Three more points he brought up:
The barrel is octagonal and he says it appears to be a little bigger than a .30
It also appears to have an F I G, or E I G in an oval,
with something I think called a 'castille' stamped on it

Pics will be forthcoming in a couple days.

I know Flobert made a .32 and I've heard of a 9mm (~.38)... does this narrow down the specific model possibilties at all?
