The Mrs. and I are looking at the S&W M&P Shield 9 and been comparing to others in its class. (by actually shooting them)

The only thing we find that we don't care for is the "take up" or "slack" in the trigger, seems like it has a bunch of play in it.

My question to those who may know is...Is the trigger "take up" on the Performance Center model different or better than the standard model?

Sorry if this is a dupe, I couldn't find anything doing a search (but I may have been looking in the wrong place).

    Thanks

Get the standard version and put an Apex in it. Thank yourself later.

First thing I did with all my M&P's - Hard Sear, RAM (not available for the .45), AEK Trigger (aluminum), and polished up the striker block, or replaced with the USB.

.45, tweaked the trigger bar some and added a physical over-travel stop.

Turns them into a completely different animal.

When I got M&P9 pretty much outfitted it with APEX tactical everything as it pertains to fire control.

I hated the segmented trigger that came with the M&P9. Apex has nice "glock" like trigger and trigger safety.
