    Check out some of the notes in the VA Tactical IP forum here. Ed Shell helps folks ring steel with 22lr out a loooong way though I can't remember the exact distances right now.

    When I spent time with Ed last year he was out to 400 yards with a 22.

    Thats good shooting with .22 Lr, Was he on the top of the target like mine?

    Actually landed on the face of the target I had set up at 100, rifle was already sighted in for 100, hit it on the second shot. Using my Cooper which has a 40x target scope on it so it was easy to see.
