I'm building a 22LR on an AR15 platform. Everything I read says I should insert a pressure plug to take the slop out of the movement of the bolt. Midway USA used to carry one but it's been discontinued.

Any observations about the use of this, and suggestions regarding who is marketing this item?

I printed something like that for my Nordic CRS, I could dig out the file and see if it could work for you?

What slop are you talking about? Are you using a JA Ciener type conversion kit?

I know you are making a dedicated upper but you are probably using the back half of a Ciener conversion with a barrel adapter instead of a chamber insert. I'm wondering why you would see slop in the bolt since it rides on rails and is spring loaded?

The problem it solves is the BCG moving slightly out of the adapter when using the CH, IIRC.

I don't remember who, maybe Taccom, used to sell a plastic slug with a pointed end you put into the buffer tube to increase the pressure on the .22 BCGs like the CMMG so they stayed fixed in position. I stopped using it in my AR-22 when I went to one of their carbon fiber bufferless stocks because that had a screw head in the end that pressed on the .22 BCG.

Now I understand. That is to keep the BCG tight. The OP was talking about bolt slop and I have never seen that due to the design.

They are no longer made and the last ones were sold out by another company. However if you go onto RimfireCentral.com and check there is a guy making them. Just look for the thread that mentions the Taccom buffer plug by name and follow it to the last page.

Found it through RimfireCentral.com. Thanks for reminding me to look there. Looks like the new design is elegant. And giving business to a new small business is a bonus.

Thanks to everyone for your help. And just think--not a single devil's advocate nay-sayer anywhere.
