Ghost Gun Ban

Maryland politician Kathleen Dumass is working on legislation to ban possession of 3D printed guns and "ghost guns" with no serial numbers because so many of them are being used in crime, right?

General Assembly to consider banning 3D printed guns in Maryland

“The governor believes that allowing people to use 3-D printing technology to manufacture untraceable guns in their homes poses serious safety and national security risks,” said Amelia Chasse Alcivar, a Hogan spokeswoman.

OMG! No serial number! Blood in the streets!

How much time and energy are they going to waste on this solution in search of a problem? Given the average criminal's firearms manufacturing capabilities plus the relatively enormous investment in time, equipment, and money to home build a gun, this is pure hoplophobic BS.

If I want an "untraceable firearm" - I can make one without a god-damned 3D printer.

Better buckle up buttercup, because the knowledge is already out there. And you're not getting that genie back into the bottle.

That's why they're pushing the "No serial numbers" line so hard.

It covers all home built firearms.

Not just printable ones.
