I stumbled across some videos of people hauling in some big fish from skinny water. Who’s fished the rivers and creeks off Lake Erie? I’ll drive the 5-6 hours but I need help figuring stuff out.

I fished off Sodus point on Lake Ontario years ago. 23' boat with downriggers.

Caught a lot of steelhead, lake trout and one 26# Atlantic Salmon. Great weekend.

Lake Moomaw in VA is stocked with Steelhead. Haven't fished for them there. Nice campground!

I went to college in Erie. Mainly fished elk river but the biggest thing with all of the rivers is to watch the stream gauges. They get blown out easily and with low water the fish will be fewer in numbers. Best bet is to head up after a rain when the water is on it’s way down.
I’ve stayed at uncle johns a few times. It’s right on Elk river with lots of holes in walking distance.
