I found a Nagant with a .32 adapter cylinder. The pistol does not have a date or serial number as my tula 1945 does. Internet search shows a 3rd manufacturer.
I have a couple pics for you. Just find it unusual not to be dated or serial numbered. Tiny import mark by cai ? under barrel. Thanks 20181127_154708.jpg 20181127_170031.jpg

It's a Tula and pre-1917 since it has the old name for the factory as being named after Emperor Peter the Great (Imper. Petra Velik).

It's weird someone would grind the date off but not the factory legend (and not easy to do w/o being obvious).
Might be able to mic it and see if the frame is different widths across the logo and where the date should be (and where S/N should be) to see if any / how much material removed.

Did you open it up and see if there is an S/N is inside the sideplate or elsewhere?

RIP to Joe Leiper (owner of russianrevolvers and moderator of Nagant section on Gunboards). We recently lost a GREAT collector of firearms in general and one of the top Nagant collectors - period.

I also tend to agree with abt’s theory of overzealous refurb. I’ve seen MANY Russian/Soviet firearms ground way down during refurb.

When did Joe L pass? Sad to lose such a font of information for everything Nagant. He was a classy gentleman, always above the occasional mud slinging session.
