GHS stock on Garand

This GHS stock has beautiful tiger stripe wood. But someone refinished it long ago. It is also mated to a IHC gap receiver. The rifle is listed in Duff’s book of post war rifles but with an LMR barrel; someone thought it was a good idea to put a nearly new springfield barrel on this rifle.

Hard to tell from the picture but if stock is original its worth around$650-$700. Would be worth more but its been sanded

not saying yours isn't original, but reproduction stampings are more common now.

Pretty sure this stock has been sanded and refinished. Looks like a hi end shotgun stock.

no doubt its been refinished, that is why I didn't value it more
