So do the direct blowback conversions use the standard carbine spring?

In most cases, a heavier spring is desired. A lot of people, me included, use Tubb 308 flat springs.

I'm running a 7.5 Oz buffer and Tubbs .308 spring with a suppressor application. Works great !!!

Looks cool, but the price is steep, pretty close to a dedicated billet 9mm lower, useful for registered MGs and SBRs though.

Went and shot it on Wednesday and it cycled just fine and locked open on the last round every time running a CTS AR15 buffer & Tubbs AR10 flat wire spring. I did have a problem with the Elftman trigger I was getting hammer follow about 70% of the time. When I got home I swapped it out for a 2 stage Wilson combat trigger. I did receive & installed the H3 buffer and hope to try it again soon.

Went back to the range, shot a 100 rounds and had ZERO issues. This thing is a lot of fun to shoot.

They are an absolute ball to shoot. That's why I'm building a second one...so I don't have to share with my wife. ;)

I'm on build number 2. Have my CMMG radial delayed blowback bolt/barrel. Waiting for a LPK and trigger to come in.....

Now that some of you have had the stern mag-ad adapter for almost a year, any more comments on it? I too am looking at getting the cmmg radial delayed bolt and barrel. Do I still need the heavy buffer and spring with the radial delayed bolt? Thanks.

I've had one for about that long, kinda works.
Goes bang, cycles (ejects and loads another round)...
But does not reset the trigger, maybe a buffer issue, maybe I put something together wrong.
Nothing against the product, likely just a "tuning" issue.
Hope for more time to work out the kinks in 2019!
