29 of 33 New Mexico sheriffs have said they aren't enforcing the new anti-2A laws.

What is the hierarchy of a sheriff in the scheme of state and county police? Is it different in every state. I understand a sheriff is elected and a chief of police is appointed.

Who has jurisdiction with this kind of thing?

This is welcome news as my sheriff is on that list. Like most states, NM politics is driven by only a few cities/towns.

It's up to the people who take that oath to support and defend our constitution to obey it. And it's great when they do. But I think there needs to be consequences when the police, judges, and politicians take that oath and do the exact opposite.

    Like Sanctuary Cities?

Illinois counties have voted to be 2A sanctuary cities. Although it is kind of symbolic between that and the NM sheriffs the temperature in this country is starting to boil regarding 2A.

Wasn't Carroll County the first place to become a "2A sanctuary county"?
