There may be an explanation.

The problem is that he returned the table because he was caught, not because he had a change of heart.

I'll bet you're right:
Needed a table, didn't want to exceed his budget, didn't care about consideration, property rights or law.

Re: "I hope he will look at his life...". Once a guy has become a thieving POS, well, I don't expect them to change much.

I agree that he shouldn't lose his job. That's why we have a justice system. I'm a little tired of seeing every so-called infraction turned into a lynching by an outraged mob. Since he brought the table and benches back, I assume there would be no arrest.

I'd like to hear that tale. What excuse could he give for pulling up to a road side stand, seeing no one around, picking up a picnic table and benches and driving off without paying?

Come on now, some times a cigar is just a cigar.

I know, he was confused. He thought Hillary won the election and we're now a socialist country. So if you need something, just go ahead and take it. After all, what's yours is yours AND mine.

Maybe the thief doesn't work for the company whose shirt he was wearing. But if he does (did) it's up to them to decide whether his actions warrant dismissal. If the company has high moral and service standards, the outcome might be different than if they were shady (for lack of a better term).

Actions have consequences, and whatever the outcome, the thief has earned them.

Why would you say that?

This is my point , i hate these people too .

And as ED has pointed out he did bring this upon his self , nobody else to blame .

And if he stole from me i would take it as far as needed . And have had people arrested in the past with no remorse .

Whether or not he would lose his job should be up to Cove Electric. If there's an explanation, let him explain it. But according to the person that owned the table, he took it without permission, and for that, he should be called out and asked to explain, at the very least.
